Golfer’s elbow (medial epicondylitis)

Pain on the inside of the elbow? Golfer’s elbow is the counterpart to tennis elbow – and just as treatable.

Overview

What is golfer’s elbow (medial epicondylitis)?

Golfer’s elbow (medial epicondylitis) is an irritation of the tendon insertions on the inside of the elbow. As with tennis elbow, it usually develops due to repetitive strain on the hand and forearm – not only in golf, but also in everyday life and at work.

Typical symptoms

Pain on the inside of the elbow, worse when bending the wrist, gripping, and lifting. Sometimes the pain radiates into the forearm.

Possible causes

Repetitive flexion and gripping loads of the hand and forearm, overuse of the tendons, and low load capacity of the muscles involved.

Our solution

How ToonyTherapy helps you

As with tennis elbow, targeted, dosed evidence-based training of the tendon is the most effective approach. Manual therapy helps relieve the irritation, and through a movement analysis we adapt stressful movements in everyday life.
